Fire checks that survive
three shifts and
an ISO audit

A plant has high fire load, hot work, oil and paint stores, DG and transformer yards, and three shifts of people who each assume the other checked it. Fast Fire Audit puts a named person and a timestamp behind every check, and produces the inspection records a Factories Act premises and an IATF or ISO audit both expect to see.

How it works in a plant

One standard across the floor,
every shift, every area

The problem in a plant is rarely equipment. It is that three shifts share a building and nobody can prove which of them looked at what.

Map areas to the layout
Shop floor, stores, utility yards and offices each become their own audit scope
Assign by shift and competence
Rounds are attached to named, qualified people rather than to a designation
Scan at the device
The tag scan stamps the entry with who and when, which is what settles the shift question
Findings routed to maintenance
A failed device becomes a work order rather than a note in a safety file
Records ready for the auditor
Quarterly inspection records and the full evidence set, exported on demand

What a manufacturing fire audit has to cover

Shop floor and process areas

High fire load, hot work, dust and solvent exposure, with check points that reflect the actual process rather than a generic office list.

Utility and energy areas

DG sets, transformers, compressor rooms and boiler houses — where electrical faults, the largest single reported cause of fire in India, concentrate.

Shift-wise accountability

Every check carries the person and the shift, so a missed round is traceable to a rota rather than to a department.

Hot work and permits

Fire watch and permit checks recorded alongside the device register, since hot work is when most plant fires actually start.

Factories Act inspection records

The quarterly inspection record such premises are expected to maintain, produced from the rounds rather than assembled afterwards.

IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 evidence

Fire safety records in the form a quality auditor accepts, with findings shown closed and verified.

Findings into maintenance

A failed pump or panel becomes a maintenance work order, using the shared asset master with Fast Maintenance.

Multi-plant standardisation

The same categories, checklists and frequencies across every unit, rolled up for a group EHS function.

Plan versus actual by unit

Which plant is completing its rounds and which is not, before the annual audit finds out for you.

Why plants outgrow the register

A shift register vs. Fast Fire Audit in a plant

A shift register records that somebody signed. It cannot record who walked, where, or what they actually saw.

Manufacturing & Plants FAQs

How does this help with a Factories Act inspection?

Premises operating under the Factories Act are expected to maintain inspection records for fire equipment on a recurring basis — in practice a quarterly record alongside the monthly in-house checks that IS 2190 sets out for extinguishers. Fast Fire Audit produces those records from the rounds your team already walks, rather than requiring someone to assemble a file the week before an inspection.

We run three shifts. How do we know who actually checked a device?

Because the entry cannot be made without scanning the tag on the device, and the scan stamps the record with the person and the time. That is the difference between a signature at the end of a shift and evidence that somebody stood in front of the unit. It also means a missed round points at a specific rota gap rather than at the safety department.

Can fire findings be routed to our maintenance team?

Yes. Fast Fire Audit shares the asset and location master with Fast Maintenance, so a failed fire pump, a faulty panel or a damaged fire door can become a maintenance work order without being retyped — and the closure flows back to the fire record.

Does it cover utility areas like DG yards and transformer rooms?

Yes, and they usually deserve their own scope and a shorter interval. Electrical causes account for a large share of reported fire incidents in India, and utility areas are where that risk concentrates — often in parts of the plant that a shop-floor round never physically passes.

Will the records satisfy an IATF 16949 or ISO 9001 auditor?

The records are structured the way an auditor expects: a documented plan, competent people assigned, evidence that the plan was executed, non-conformities raised with root cause and corrective action, and closure verified independently. Fire safety records are frequently where those audits find gaps, precisely because the fire register is the one document nobody treats like a quality record.

Can we standardise across several plants?

Yes. Categories, checklists and frequencies are defined once and applied to every unit, so a group EHS function compares like with like. Each plant still reports separately, which is usually the point — a group-level percentage tells you nothing about the site that is actually behind.
